With the opening of the former synagogue as a cultural institution as well as the redesign of the Cathedral Square and the KinderKunstLabor, St. Pölten is adding three unique venues to its cultural programme.
The highlight of the cultural year is the new festival of contemporary culture - TANGENTE St. Pölten. The festival will take place throughout the Lower Austrian capital and the capital region from 30 April to 6 October 2024. The interdisciplinary, socially inclusive and ecologically oriented programme consists of visual arts, theatre, performances, music, literature, science and discourse formats.
The art trail along the water - The Way of the Water - is an 8 km walk along the Traisen and Mühlbach rivers that combines art, nature and the city. The focus is on more than 24 artistic interventions that are freely accessible.
Whether in the Festspielhaus with dance, concert, circus, ballet; in the excellent Landestheater Niederösterreich, a top-class spoken theatre; in the Europaballett with opera, operetta, ballet, musical; in the Bühne im Hof with all kinds of cabaret; or in the VAZ, one of Austria's largest event centres with music and entertainment programmes:
