Museum of Lower Austria (Museum Niederösterreich)
Dive into history and nature!
This place brilliantly combines history and nature, giving you a comprehensive view of the entire state.
Experience nature
When it comes to nature, a visit to the House of Nature (Haus der Natur) in the Museum of Lower Austria is a must during your stay in St.Pölten. From the Danube basin (Donaubecken) to an herb meadow (Kräuterwiese) and even a mountain glacier, the museum showcases over 40 different indigenous animal species. It's the only natural history exhibit in Austria exclusively featuring local wildlife.
Various special events, like discounts for students, Sunday in the Museum programs, and Adventure Knowledge (Abenteuer Wissen), are particularly tailored for our young visitors to keep them coming back for more.
“Haus der Geschichte” (House of History)
Don't miss the House of History (Haus der Geschichte), a permanent exhibition dedicated to Lower Austria's history in the context of Central European history. Thanks to generous donations, you can now admire historically significant private objects for the first time. The exhibit is designed thematically, making historical connections crystal clear.
