KinderKunstLabor

Children + Art + Labor as a teaching institution

The KinderKunstLabor opened in June - an architecturally innovative building and new kind of meeting place for international contemporary art, children and artists. It will present visual art, diverse media, installations, design and architecture.

The focus of this new building is on children up to the age of 12, with two annual exhibitions and a thematically coordinated workshop and project programme. Young visitors will have the opportunity to develop their creativity in a sustainable way.

Adults interested in art, curators, educators and children's relatives - parents, grandparents - can also discover international art positions, take part in artistic experiments and experience the child's perspective.

Everything revolves around art!

In dialogue with artists and works of art, children and young people can take a critical stance and become creative themselves.

Children not only visit the house, but can also actively participate in the programme and get to know regional and international artists. The programme content is developed together with young participants in the art ideas workshop and the children's advisory board in participatory processes. This allows the children to help shape and characterise the space: the KinderKunstLabor becomes their space.

The KinderKunstLabor will continue to develop in terms of content and adapt to the changing needs of children and society. Experiences and findings from the processes are passed on in a special qualification centre for art education for and with a young audience.
